Eve, our 11 year old Saanen Dairy Milk Goat, gives us about a quart of delicious milk everyday, even though she has not been freshened in over two years! Usually Goats have to be bred and freshen (have kids) about every year in order to give milk. So, when one goes longer without needing to be freshened, especially one as old as Eve, it makes her very special indeed! So, her milk, and the cheese we make from it is very special also! Someday, maybe we’ll do a longer video, or maybe even offer a cheese making course, but this is not that video. This is a quick look at the on the stove basics.
